WorkBoat Senior Editor Ken Hocke recently spoke with Robert Dann, co-owner of Dann Marine Towing, in Chesapeake City, Md., in the wheelhouse of the Chesapeake Coast, one of two new 100' x 34' tugs the company is building — the other is the Discovery Coast. The interview takes place at the shipyard at Main Iron Works in Houma, La., which is building the tugs.
Dann answers questions about the regulations and business case for building the new tugs, where they will operate, and why his company chose Main Iron Works to do the work.
