Luke Grimes Opens Up About Kevin Costner's Exit from Yellowstone

Luke Grimes recently revealed he hasn’t spoken to Kevin Costner since the actor’s dramatic departure from *Yellowstone*. In a *Men’s Health* interview on December 17, Grimes, 40, explained, “I haven’t talked to him since,” noting there are no hard feelings, but that Costner’s Hollywood status made it hard for him to reach out. “He’s a big deal,” Grimes added. “I have his number, but I don’t feel like it’s my place to reach out.”

Grimes also addressed the surprising nature of Costner’s exit mid-Season 5, following rumors of tension between Costner and show creator Taylor Sheridan. “None of us saw it coming the way it did,” Grimes said. “But these things happen fast, and they’re not predictable.”

While Grimes emphasized there were no ill feelings, he previously told *Esquire* that Costner’s departure from set created a less tense environment, making the season easier to film.

Following *Yellowstone*’s finale, Costner reacted coldly when asked about his relationship with Grimes. When a reporter inquired, Costner said, “We’re done talking,” indicating that the relationship between the two has cooled.
