In 1969, Kubler-Ross published the book "On Death and Dying." In it, she describes the five stages of grief:
1. Denial and isolation
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
This art film portrays these stages by telling the story of a young woman who finds out that she is going to die soon. The ending poem by Emily Dickinson is a representation of the stages and the ultimate optimism associated with the acceptance of death.
