In March 2009, it was announced that Kostas Martakis departed from Sony BMG Greece on very good terms and signed with Universal Music Greece. The successful collaboration with Sony BMG launched his debut album and helped spawn ten singles, a notable achievement for a new artist in the Greek music industry.[6]
In June 2009, Martakis released a song as a digital single called "Pio Konta" (Come Closer) composed by Swedish producers Holter & Erixson. A video directed by Dimitris Silvestros debuted on Universal Music Greece's official YouTube channel on August 5, 2009.[7]. Martakis plans to release his second Greek language studio album on October 12, 2009.
