Sanaghagara Waterfall 5 km from the keonjhar township and 2.5 kms from shree baladevjew temple was our second destination for this year's keonjhar monsoon tour.
Last two times i were in keonjhar, sanaghagara waterfall was closed due to covid restriction. So, this time we decided to visit the waterfalls and dams near keonjhar town in monsoon when there will be maximum flow.
Sanaghagara waterfall is in the Julia ghat next to keonjhar town over machhkandana river. Badaghagara dam and waterfall is in it's upper stream about 3 km before sanaghagara.
This waterfall is just next to mumbai-kolkata national highway 49 and can be visited in any time of year. Sanaghagara nature camp is outside the park area. It's also a popular picnic area picnic pindis and other facilities are available here.
To reach the waterfall you have to walk for about 600 meters from the parking area, there is a pond on the way where you can do boating.
Another important thing to note is that entry to this waterfall and park is not free. You have to pay a fee of Rs 20 per car or auto rikshaw and Rs 15 per person.
There is also a fast food & snacks shop where you can get cold drinks, packaged drinking water etc. another shop is near by where you can get multiple types of acharsa as well as forest products like jhuna, lakha etc.
