Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review of the Sirio Gainmaster HW.
It is six years ago since I reviewed the very first Sirio Gainmaster that came to England.
It was that multi -part review that helped make this channel such a popular one.
Back then the norm were end-fed mono-poles and there were many shouts of "Snake Oil" when the first tests were carried out here.
In the following year many more operators found the Gainmaster to be a top performer and became one of the best selling antennas to this day and the rest is history.
This is the very latest version called the HW (Half-wave) which is the smaller version of the original 5/8 wave antenna.
This new model is just 18 feet long and should be better for locations were high winds are an issue.
One thing to remember the GM needs to be high up in the air and in free space to work it's very best.
In the future I will install the antenna and conduct some On Air Tests and also check the important facts like band width.
One thing I did spot (did you?) is that the box and paperwork market it as A Ham Antenna .
