The State Minister for Lands Dr Sam Mayanja has announced a ban on evictions of Bibanja landowners saying this contravenes with article 237 of the constitution of Uganda. Mayanja says all eviction court orders are null and void because they are inconsistent with clause 8 of this article. The minister was in Nakaseke District to intervene in a land wrangle which resulted in the demolishing of the house of Stephen Mugambwa by a former Resident District Commissioner Capt. Sula Serunjogi.
