This single-stemmed finely-cut-leaf Japanese Maple has a rich reddish plum-leafed upright form with nearly translucent leaves! The leaves seem to glow from the inside like a lantern when the sun hits it from behind. Also known as Red Emperor, these trees are slower to leaf out in the spring meaning that it isn't as susceptible to surprise spring frost damage.
