Hi everybody, here is a short video to show how to make an automatic gearbox oil change on a Jaguar XJ. My car is a Jaguar X300 4.0L Sovereign from 1994.
This procedure is easy to do and you'll need some basics tools only.
The transmission fluid change is for me as much important as an engine oil change, obviously not as regurlarly as the engine but at least every 50 to 60000 kms or 35000 miles.
A contaminated oil lost lubricating power, common sense I would say, andmostly as we're all the same, we drive with habits and forgot the benefits of a fresh gearbox oil... Smooth driving and protection of our classic cars...
If you own a Jaguar XJ X300 3,2L, XJR or even a XJ40 it will be the same process.
On the Jaguar XJ serie 3 its also the same process, transmission fluid pan is almost the same, just the fitment will be different and filter.
More or less the automatic geabox fluid change on you Jaguar XJ will take about 2 hours, that's not a big deal regarding the benefit on the driving.
