How did I do it (so you can too)? 👇
For the first year and a half of my freelancing career, I was deep into social media management. Then, I had a realization: UGC didn’t have to be just a part of my social media packages—I could charge for it as a standalone service.
In August 2023, I decided to give Fiverr a shot, after focusing on Upwork for the first year and a half, where I had reached the top 1% as a top-rated and enterprise freelancer. Different platforms work better for different services, so it’s good to be on both.
I jumped onto Fiverr, spent 30 to 60 days optimizing my profile, building my portfolio, and fine-tuning my gigs. By October, just 30 days later, I made $4,000 and then $7,000 in November from UGC alone. It all happened faster than I ever expected.
What contributed to this success?
Two main factors: I had spent the previous year building and refining my UGC portfolio, learning the ropes, and honing my skills.
Plus, it was Q4—brands were eager to spend their remaining budgets, making it a prime time for UGC creators.
If you’re thinking about diving into UGC, now is the perfect time to start.
Begin by watching the UGC content that brands are putting out.
Get a feel for the kind of content they need and start practicing by making your own videos for products you use.
There’s a whole world of opportunity out there, and with Q4 just around the corner, you’ll be perfectly positioned to capitalize on it.
