(22 Dec 2015) Every Christmas Slovenia's Postojna cave - the largest cave in Europe open to the public - is transformed into the biggest living nativity scene in the world.
Now in it's 26th year the nativity is set on different stages throughout the cave system.
Natural stalactites and stalagmites cast deep shadows in the cave and choirs' songs echo throughout, creating a unique Christmas experience for audiences.
Visitors move from scene to scene, walking along bridge and tunnels and even board a small train to see the performances staged along a few kilometres underground.
Over 500 performers take part in the living nativity, having rehearsed their scenes for two months.
"We believe it touches the soul of each visitor in our cave," Marijan Batagelj, CEO of Postojna Cave, said.
