The upcoming newest suburban railway station of Mumbai Suburban Railways, to be Introduced on Central Railways’ Trans-Harbor Line, Between Thane and Airoli Station, near the Village Dighe on Thane Belapur Road is all set to be open for public anytime soon. The Station at Dighe is a Part of MRVC’s new Project of Linking Airoli to Kalva Via an Elevated corridor, under the Scheme MUTP-3. The New link would provide direct connectivity for the trains to run from Kalyan to Panvel, or Kalyan to Vashi, or even Kalyan to Uran in the upcoming future. The Project is divided into 2 Phases, where in the first phase includes the completion of New Railway Station at Dighe, and the 2nd stage would be adding up those elevated lines that would be connected to Kalva and further on the Mainline central railways.
The Railway station at Dighe includes a total number of 4 Platforms, in 2 Island platform layout, Each measuring 270m in length, and 12 meters in width. A Total of 5 Subways for porters, 6 Escalators, 2 Elevators would be available for passengers to use once operational. Toilets and Washrooms are located on the southern end of both sides of Station premises at ground level, ensuring no foul odor affects any passenger waiting on the platform. In future, depending on passenger requirements, another Toilet block might be constructed near the Station administration building on both sides. The ticket counter is situated near the Main entrances on both the sides. The Network Infrastructure for WiFi connectivity for passengers on platform is also being laid
The station is located just besides the Thane – Belapur road, providing a seamless connectivity to road transport as well. Ample parking space is available for 2-wheeler as well as 4-wheeler parking inside the station premises. This station would be providing connectivity to nearby locality of Dighe as well as many corporate offices in the near vicinity, and thus also helping to decongest Airoli as well as Thane.
