When the monkey army led by Angad was informed that Mother Sita was on the other side of the ocean, in the kingdom of Lanka, they selected Hanuman for the task of crossing over to the other side, for getting information about her. When Hanuman leapt from the ground and travelled by the sky above the ocean, he encountered immense obstacles. One of them was the demoness Surasa.

Similarly, on the spiritual path, the sadhak has to face mammoth difficulties. We must take inspiration from Hanuman and learn how he faced the challenges that came his way.
