Crawford Castle is situated in a quiet field overlooking the River Clyde just a short distance from the A74(M). The earthworks of the castle date back to the 12th century, and the stone ruins, primarily from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Our casual adventure continues at Camps Reservoir, a notable water source that has been in operation since 1930. The reservoir is the source of the Camps Water, a tributary of the River Clyde. Today, it is managed by Scottish Water, providing essential drinking water to the region and covering a vast area of 78.8 hectares (194 acres).
