The South African government intends to build a new nuclear power station that will generate electricity. The Presidency said they are now in the preparatory stages for the procurement process after signing agreements with the United States, South Korea, Russia, France, and China. This comes after consumers suffered the worst power shortages since 2008, as current infrastructure fails to cope with demand.
