Description:
Fužine, a municipality in Gorski Kotar, is a famous tourist place with a very long tourist tradition. Of the tourist attractions, there are a total of three reservoir lakes in Fužine: Bajer, Lepenica and the smaller Potkoš lake. The most significant natural monument is the Vrelo cave, discovered in the fifties of the 20th century when stone was being extracted for the construction of a dam and a road. Church of St. Anton Padovanski is the largest religious building in Gorski kotar. About ten kilometers from Fužine is the cowboy town of Roswell - an artificial cowboy movie town in Croatia that was created in 2015. The buildings are the remains of the scenery created for the purposes of filming the film about Winnetou, that is, the trilogy about Winnetou. The buildings erected in the film settlement are the usual ones for a small town in the Wild West: a saloon, a sheriff's office, a grocery store, a beer hall, a courthouse, residential houses, a small chapel next to a cemetery in front of the settlement, a "cowboy road" to the town. Next to the town is a wooden viaduct for the railway as part of the film settlement. As of 2018, Roswell is hosting Western Days.
