This adventure starts from Königssee (Lake Konigssee) where you take a boat ride and disembark at St. Bartholomew and walk there for 30 minutes to enjoy the surrounding nature. Then go back to the boat dock and continue the boat journey to Salet. Then do the short hike (20 minutes) out to Obersee and hike for about an hour to Rothbach waterfall. Röthbach (the highest waterfall in Germany at 470 meters) often runs dry, but it is still totally worth it to hike to the Fischunkelalm pasture at the far end of Lake Obersee. Take your time for this hike, you will walk through the most beautiful part of the Berchtesgaden National Park. At the end of the video, you will see Jennerbahn cable car that takes you all the way up to the summit to see a beautiful panoramic view of Konigsee lake.
Berchtesgaden National Park is Germany's only Alpine National Park. It was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1990 and established in 1978.
