In this IoT internet of things project, I have shown how to make the IoT based indoor plant watering system using ESP32 Blynk and a soil moisture sensor. The ESP32 will control the water pump automatically as per the soil moisture level. You can control and monitor the moisture level, and temperature from anywhere in the world on Blynk IoT.

For this IoT-based plant watering system, you can set the ideal moisture level for the soil. In AUTO mode, the water pump will ON/OFF automatically to maintain the moisture level. In manual mode, you can control the pump manually.
You can also monitor the soil moisture level, temperature, humidity, and current mode on the OLED display if wifi not available.
During this video, I made the circuit on zero PCB using the PCB layout, and also shared the plant monitoring system circuit and source code.
During the ESP32 project video, I covered the following topics:
00:24 Quick demo on the automatic watering system for plants.
02:55 Required components for the ESP32 IoT project.
03:09 Circuit diagram of the ESP32 plant watering system.
03:40 How to make plant watering system project on Zero PCB.
04:49 Set up Blynk IoT Cloud for ESP32.
08:00 How to get the MIN MAX values of the capacitive moisture sensor.
08:43 Source code for the IoT-based plant monitoring system.
10:31 Set up new Blynk IoT app to monitor soil moisture level.
12:01 How to install the indoor plant watering system.

Important points:
1. You can eighter use a 12V DC pump or 12V solenoid valve.
2. Use heat sinks with 7805 regulator, and TIP122 transistor.
3. Use a stable DC power supply.
4. Enter the MIN & MAX capacitive moisture sensor reading as shown in the video.
5. If Blynk is not connected, you can change mode, and control the pump with push buttons.
6. Please watch the complete video, otherwise you may face some issues.
This IoT-based DIY plant watering system will maintain the soil moisture level which will be helpful for plant growth and also save water resources. So you can use this IoT project as an indoor plant monitoring system for vacation. This ESP32 project can also be used as IoT in agriculture.
