🎥The Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power Review
⚔️Set in Middle-Earth’s Second Age, thousands of years before the Lord of the Rings films, the series covers major events such as the forging of the rings of power, the rise of Sauron, and the fall of Númenor.
👑This series is the most expensive tv show ever made to date, and is visually stunning from a cinematography and production design perspective, very reminiscent of the Peter Jackson films.
🤔One of my biggest complaints of the series so far however is that there’s too many storylines happening at the same time and it’s hard to keep track of what’s happening. We get the storylines of the Dwarves, the Harfoots (ancestors of the Hobbits), the Númenorians, and the elves, and more.
🗡️The action and battle sequences are great and I do like most of the characters. I will say that the two or three episodes of season 2 are the best of the show so far.
🎬I’m not a fan of the constant mystery box style of storytelling where we’re having to guess what’s what or who’s who the whole time. Some of the pacing is slow and the episodes tend to jump around a lot between storylines, again making the flow feel choppy.😬
😁Overall, I’m beginning to like the show a lot more after season 2, I’m interested to see how the story will continue to develop.
