The reason this #clearclick converter unit is all you need for old VHS and 8mm video is because vhs and video8 can store up to 240 vertical lines at full vertical resolution of 480 (NTSC) or 576 (PAL) pixels. so those old tapes would capture the video at 480x480 / 480x576 pixels. This unit records at 720 pixels which captures all lines and resolution pixels and every frame is captured at 60 fps which is what you need to best copy a video to digital.

To my surprise this #oldvideos system works well and is easy to use. I've tried other types of #videoconverters that required a device and a computer and #videosoftware and they all didn't work. This is the first converter that I've purchased that worked easily with no frustration. I highly recommend it. The video looks great and sound is very good too. As a result of this converter I will be starting some new channels where I'll show some old videos from the 80's and 90's that I've recorded over the years.
