Spotting at John F. Kennedy International Airport
John F. Kennedy International Airport
Queens, New York
Saturday July 30, 2011
This is a rather short spotting video, shot on July 30, 2011 from a last-minute trip to New York to visit and hang out with some of my friends up there. This was a hotter-than-thought-of day, with video shot between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, with the 31s being active at Kennedy. The video would have shown arrivals and even departures through the evening, but I wasn't feeling the heat as well as I normally do on a day like that. You'll see a decent amount of arrivals onto Runway 31R (I skipped a lot of regional jets and jetBlue aircraft) and I've even got a couple nice catches in the video. Two out of three A380s are seen in the video, both arriving for 31L, as they cannot land on 31R due to obstacles on the runway.
I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I have yet to figure out what causes it.
