Hello, all.
I hope you'll enjoy this wistful and sweet piece by French composer, Erik Satie. The "Trois Gymnopedie" were composed for solo piano, and while they are relatively simple technically, they are deceptively diffcult in terms of phrasing; and for wind players, difficult in terms of air management. For me, they really call to mind a rainy spring day. The marking at the beginning, oddly enough, translates literally to "slowly and painfully," but I think it would more aptly be "slowly and with sadness."
