Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke to the World Economic Forum's COVID Action platform to underline the dilemma faced by developing economies in the face of the coronavirus outbreak. For many countries, a lockdown means risking starvation for their poorest and so they must face the public health threat and keep their economies open. But global cooperation around debt relief can help countries like Pakistan better resource their health systems.
The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. We believe that progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life who have the drive and the influence to make positive change.
