Today's agricultural research demands the use of innovative technology to tackle the challenges facing the industry. Dr. Billy Cook, Noble Foundation Agricultural Division Director, explains a number of advanced tools his organization is using to solve problems related to forage growth, cattle production, livestock feed efficiency and wildlife management. From GPS-enabled devices to measure forage growth to electronic ID tags to track the feed intake of individual animals, new technologies are enabling researchers to provide answers that will ultimately benefit land managers and agricultural producers.
Cook's March 14, 2013 talk was given at the Texoma Cattlemen's Conference in Ardmore, Okla. The annual conference is presented by the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation for the benefit of cattle producers in the Southern Great Plains.
