The Statewide Outreach Center--with permission from "A Kids Book About Covid-19" author Malia Jones and publisher akidsbookabout.com--has created a lesson plan about Covid-19 and a list of ASL vocabulary definitions to help students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing communicate about and understand coronavirus/Covid-19 using American Sign Language.
In these videos, students will learn the most common vocabulary related to the coronavirus. Students will learn: nouns such as symptoms, outbreak, pandemic, and droplet transmission, and verbs and expressions such as to social distancing, cocoon, and shelter in place.
