#54: Erabenimsun Nerevarine

Unlike the other tribes, the Erabenimsun are uncooperative and unwelcoming; they are ruled by a group of war-loving gulakhans and their leader, Ulath-Pal. The Wise Woman Manirai says that they are bad men and will never name an outlander Nerevarine, and that the only solution is to kill them; Han Ammu, son of the last chief Airan Ammu, must become ashkhan, though he is a pitiful s'wit with no strength, courage, or wisdom. Nobody else in the tribe offers counsel, and Han Ammu only wallows in his self-pity, so the only course of action is to confront the warmongers.

Ulath-Pal attacks when asked about the prophecies (the fool), and his supporters are not impressed by my victory over him. Each one falls: Ahaz, Ranabi, and Ashu-Ahhe. From their corpses I take the Robe of Erur-Dan the Wise, Sanit-Kil's Amulet, and The Waraxe of Airan Ammu, gifting each one with a lesson to Han Ammu. With these tokens, he begins to understand that he must lead the tribe, following his father's footsteps; his first action as the new ashkhan is to name me the Erabenimsun Nerevarine, and the Seizing of the Erabenimsun is given to me by Manirai, signifying the completion of the Fifth Trial.

With both the Fourth and Fifth Trials completed, I should return to Nibani Maesa for guidance, but something sticks out in my mind: the note from the Archcanon. Tholer Saryoni of the Temple in Vivec wishes to speak with me now that I am Hortator and Nerevarine. Hidden behind locked doors, he doesn't make it so simple. Upon presenting myself, he informs me that he recognizes the threat of Dagoth Ur and the crisis that Morrowind now faces; he agrees to allow me to be the champion of the people, but I must first go up those long palace steps... to speak to Lord Vivec.
