Claire Robbs is the Chief Executive of Life Without Barriers, the largest provider of foster care in Australia for children and young people, as well as people with disability and mental illness, and unaccompanied young refugees and asylum seekers. Life Without Barriers also provides community and home-based support for people with disability, older people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia. Claire won Macquarie’s 2012 David Clarke Social Innovation Fellowship, using the funds to travel to Ireland and the United States to research the Youth Advocate Program (YAP), an international model in community-based services for children, in those countries, in the juvenile justice, welfare and mental health systems.
