I've struck a bargain with the Keepers. As before, they are somewhat worried and, also as before, they have nobody except me to do their dirty work. As long as they pay me well enough, I'm in. Besides, I'm bored with stealing candlesticks from old women who forget to shut their windows before going to bed.

I need to visit Konigsforst, a remote yet wealthy city, and meet Keeper Jonas. Together we will investigate the anomalies at the House of Science. This means that Jonas will delve into dusty books and glyph paintings and I will do the rest.

The Keepers have told me less than usual. Apparently there was a burst of anomalous energy in the scientist's mansion. The windows are flickering with a blue light, the street is swathed in blue fog, and the Council is worried by both these phenomena. But if you ask me, I'd say that some egghead had dropped a vial of chemicals and forgotten to clean up his laboratory. The Keepers never give me the whole picture though.

Jonas will be waiting for me in his hide-out which is in "The Stumbled Traveler Inn." All the Keepers are engrossed in their paranoia so they hide their secrets in the most crowded places. I can reveal the "entrance" just by using the concentration I learned in the Order.

This time I've decided to conduct my own little inquiry separately from the Keepers' investigation. I'm tired of being their puppet running their errands.

Despite the payment, it would be wise to... collect some valuables from those scientists.

Konigsforst attracted my attention a long time ago u they say it has a jewel mine somewhere underneath the city. Besides, my landlord has raised the rent for the tiny room where I live which he calls oan apartment.

As usual before a "job" I visited my old fence, Jacob, to get any additional orders. He has relatives all over the country and he owes me for the low prices I set especially for him. The answer to my last query to him will be delivered by his man to a previously agreed place. The only thing I know about his answer is that it'll have some conditions.

I think it should be a pleasant stroll into the fortified city, with a fine view to the local woods... and the fat wallets of affluent citizens.
