Here is "mummy's mince pies" recipe for anyone who wants to make them!
8oz margarine
12oz plain flour
2 tbsp cold water
Jar of mincemeat
Dash of milk to brush over the top of mince pies
Caster sugar to sprinkle over top of pies
1. Rub margarine into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs
2. Add water and mix into a firm dough
3. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth
4. Roll out and use circular cutters to cut out base and lid of pies
5. Place pastry bases into a bun tine
6. Add 1tsp of mincemeat into pastry base
7. Brush underside of pastry lid with water and gently press onto filled cases
8. Brush top of mince pies with milk and sprinkle on caster sugar. Make a cross incision with a sharp knife into lid to allow steam to escape when cooking
