In this episode of India Upfront, the host Rahul Shivshankar will be discussing how according to forecasts by TIMES NOW for Central Gujarat, which includes Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, the BJP will win 61 seats with 47% of the vote. Here is how the state's overall vote share and final seat totals for the parties appear.
According to the results, BJP is expected to win 135–145 seats, followed by Congress with 24-34 seats and AAP with 6–16 seats. With 46% of the vote, the BJP will maintain its majority, followed by the Congress (23.4%) and Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) (24.2%). 5.7% of the vote will go to other. Gujarat Assembly elections' second round, which had 93 constituencies spread over 14 districts, is now over. 833 candidates had their fates decided by the votes of the state's residents. On Thursday, the first round of voting took place in 19 districts throughout south Gujarat, Kutch, and Saurashtra. Electronic voting machines determined the outcomes of 788 candidates. Exit poll results will be released later this evening to provide early estimates of prospective winners before the results are officially confirmed on December 8.

Jai Mrug explains the disparity in the number of seats & the vote percentage, including the gains made by the AAP as well as the impact of anti-incumbency on BJP's chances.
“Gujarat is integral to India's economy. Beyond the numbers of BJP, the way Congress is being projected,” said Sanju Verma, BJP Spokesperson.
“If the exit polls are to be looked at, AAP is the biggest winner with 0 to 25% jump,” said Sumanth Raman, Political Analyst.
“BJP is like 'US of 1993 after USSR has collapsed'... anytime Congress goes to number 3 in a state, it never recovers,” said Advocate Ishkaran Singh Bhandari.
“If AAP's share stands at 25% it's a good performance but BJP can't be defeated in its model state that way,” said Author Anand Ranganathan.
“AAP's vote share will not reach 25% but will hover around 10-15%,” said Ashutosh, Author.
“I don't agree that the opposition hasn't projected an alternative” said Dr. Muni.
