Triple Crossing Beer Cinder Rauchbier (Richmond, VA, USA): "Our yearly German style smoked lager makes a surprise return just in time for Covenant. Brewed with a serious amount of German Beechwood smoked malt, Munich and Vienna malts, and fermented with our preferred lager strain to set the stage for all the malt depth we can possibly get. Intentionally attenuated to a slightly sweeter finishing gravity, all in effort to aid in balancing out the often-perceived drying effect of smoked malt. We taste slightly savory dark smoke like campfire tones leveled off by sweeter toffee, roasted chestnut, and dried fruit character. While a complete departure from the typical lager, and likely one of our most polarizing offerings, there’s just something about these beers... 5% ABV and on draft at all locations."
