(14 Sep 1978) Refugees flee the Nicaraguan town of Leon from the fighting between the National Guard and Sandinista guerillas. The government troops brought in tanks, artillery and jet planes to help them regain the city and residents fleeing the town said the Sandinistas had retreated and that the National Guard were destroying the city.
