My Filipino wife will go over things that shocked her within the first year of moving to America. Some of the things on her list I had to explain and others she had to adjust to over time.
We hope that this list will help others with their long distant relationship. When you bring your Filipino fiancé to America please keep in mind she will have a adjustment period. She will be missing her family, Filipino food, her friends and Filipino tv shows. This will help her to NOT go into depression.
A few thing on my Filipino wife list: How fast the weather change to winter. Fall weather and thinking the trees were dying. Finding other people from the Philippines in our area. Hard to find Filipino food. People thinking she speaks Spanish. Not finding big sacks of rice.
