I made up this recipe using the ingredients that I love and that are in season and I was MORE than happy with the results. They are REALLY EASY to make and so delicious! i couldn't resist eating a few as soon as they came out of the oven but I have to say they do taste better when they have cooled slightly. the flavours seem to enhance.
I love the bite and nutty flavour from the pine nuts, the taste of garlic which is subtly enhanced by the finely sliced spring onion. Then we get on to the gruyere cheese which makes them utterly irresistible.
I have to say though i do love the wild garlic in them. I am slightly obsessed with wild garlic recently and so glad it is currently in season in the UK.
TIP: when picking wild garlic pick from the root and place in a glass of water when you get home, it lasts must longer than if you were to just pick the leaves which can wilt almost over night.
Ingredients
1x pack of pre made, pre rolled puff pastry
40g pine nuts- whizzed up in a food processor or finely chopped
100g gruyere cheese or parmesan or whatever cheese you have in your fridge
1 spring onion finely sliced
Good handful of wild garlic finely sliced
Salt and Pepper
