The Castel Béranger is a private residential building whose exterior, including the courtyard side, and glimpses of the lobby through the entrance, are visible. Situated on a plot of 700 m², it consists of two approximately rectangular parallel buildings, positioned one behind the other: the first, bordered to the southeast by Rue Jean-de-La-Fontaine, conceals the second, which is connected to it by a narrow corps de logis on the northeast side; the elongated courtyard that separates them communicates to the southwest with a private alley called Hameau Béranger, from which the complex derives its name. All three buildings have six floors. The painter Paul Signac described the Castel in the February 15, 1899 edition of La Revue Blanche.
