Intel to lay off 340 employees | Dt Next
Chip maker Intel IS laying off about 340 people at one in the US. The chip making giant is now joining hands with a tech leaders such as Meta, Google, Microsoft and Twitter in the spree of tech-layoffs over the recent time.
In a statement, the company said that it is a 'difficult decision', and added that the intel is committed to 'treating impacted employees with dignity'.
"These are difficult decisions, and we are committed to treating impacted employees with dignity and respect," Intel said in a statement.
Layoffs at Intel has taken under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice, under which corporations are required to give a notice of 60 days to the affected employees. In December, Intel announced to fire 111 workers. On January, the company increased its number to 176.
"All impacted employees have been notified of separation with at least 60 days' notice, with the first separations presently scheduled to occur during a 14-day period commencing on March 15, 2023," the Intel notice read. According to the report, Intel is planning to layoff 500 employees in California still official information has not come yet.
