The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery have announced a reduction in petrol prices to below ₦900 per litre. NNPCL has set its price at ₦899 per litre, while Dangote Refinery follows closely with an ex-depot price of ₦899.50 per litre. This decision, welcomed by industry stakeholders such as IPMAN and PETROAN, comes as a response to declining global oil prices and a stabilising naira. The new pricing strategies, particularly in regions like Anambra and the South-South, are expected to alleviate transportation costs and ease the financial burden on Nigerians, especially during the festive season. Oil and gas expert George Brown joins us to discuss the implications of these changes.
