Set in post-World War I Birmingham, England, in 1919, the pilot episode of Peaky Blinders introduces us to the world of the Shelby family, a notorious gang known as the Peaky Blinders. Led by the cunning and ambitious Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), the gang operates in the gritty underworld of illegal bookmaking, smuggling, and racketeering.
Tommy orchestrates a dramatic display of power by staging a rigged horse race, catching the attention of both his enemies and law enforcement.
