Kalyan (Maharashtra), June 22 (ANI): A group of farmers turned violent demonstrating their agitation against the Government on Maharashtra’a Thane-Badlapur Highway on Thursday morning. The farmers, who were agitated on the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for allegedly acquiring their lands, set tyres on fire and burnt vehicles. The protesting farmers said that their lands were acquired on the pretext of constructing an airport. Additional forces, including riot control vehicles, were sent to the spot to control the situation. The violence took place nearby Nevali Village on Haji Malang Road.
