I've been refining & extending my drawings and therefore updating my videos!
Some people enjoy drawing a single repeat unit of the pattern and then repeating the pattern using tracing paper (me!), others enjoy drawing the pattern several times in a fuller tiling (also me!) so hence this video.
This pattern continues to be a bit of a mystery. It's one that we haven't yet been able to find an exact historical example of. We being the FB geometry family:

What I do know is that it can be traced back to a plate in Prisse d'Avennes' late 19th century book of Islamic patterns from Cairo. It also is in keeping with the Persian wood work that you see with Orosi glass facades in Iran. Many examples exisit, hence the name.
Regardless of it's mystery, we still love it, but would be happier seeing it in situ somewhere historically... so if you can help... do let me know!
