A biomass and biofuel generation company found that after just one year in service, three of their pump impellers exhibited extreme damage. The damage was a result of constant cleaning of the impellers with strong chemicals to eliminate the growth of any microbiological matter which could impact their production process.
Belzona 1311 and 1321 were used to restore and rebuild the eroded impeller, as well as provide further protection. This application, performed in 2014, remained in perfect condition in 2017 leading the customer to have four other impellers coated for protection from erosion.
