Philip van den Dool from The Netherlands presents his works during VISIONS, third appointment of ANIMA MUNDI 2024, which took place in Venice at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello from June 07 to June 21, 2024, and at Palazzo Pisani-Revedin from June 20 to July 04, 2024, during the 60th Venice Biennale of Art.
Phlip van den Dool (1950) developed alongside his work as a physical engineer specializing in acoustics in the field of art in the 1980s at the Vrije Academie in The Hague and received the Groene Hart Art Prize in 2019. In addition to using oil, acrylic, watercolor and screen printing, the iPad is also used. The bright colors, the fast, direct and clean work, the application of layers, encourages plenty of experimentation. With the Apple Pencil and the Procreate program, a drawing is built up with the artist's handwriting using various brushes. A digital palette makes it possible to choose from a wide range of colors. During the Lockdown of 2021, a drawing was made in this way with the iPad every day in and around Uithoorn, entitled " Lockdown 2 Spring ". In addition to working with the iPad and computer, brush and pallet are also used. The interaction deepens the play with light and form.
