If you have a motorcycle claim in Washington and you’re wondering how long it’s going to take to resolve, that’s all dependent upon your recovery. You really cannot and should not begin negotiations until you know the full extent of your injuries and what your medical bills will total. It’s impossible to know that right away. As a rule of thumb, once you are done getting treated and you either reach pre-accident condition or maximum medical improvement, you can start negotiating with the insurance company. Typically in our office, we probably will have the insurance company’s top offer for you after four months when you stop treating. If you cannot reach an amicable resolution at that point, then you start a lawsuit. The rule of thumb is that you’ll probably go to trial between 12 and 18 months after you start that lawsuit.
