In 1964, Phil Kraft designed and built a test-bed for his all new proportional R/C under development. Allegedly, he called it Box-Fli for its boxy shape. In 1966, it was embellished by George Walker and became known as Das Ugly Stik.

There are no pictures or videos of the original, but this simulator model should pretty much show how it looked, even in motion.
