£5.9 Billion Deal: MoD Reclaims Control of Military Housing
Recently, the MoD has embarked on a massive £5.9 billion buyback of 36,000 married quarters from Annington! In this video, I am peeling back the layers on this historic deal, showing you how it reverses a controversial 1996 privatisation.
No more £230 million annual rent? Check. Potential for major housing upgrades? Double check. But what does this mean for you, the service families? Hopefully, the renovation, development and overall improvement of service families accommodation (SFA) across Defence.
But these changes will not happen overnight and it will be interesting to see how this progresses in the coming year, especially as a new military housing strategy is being introduced in 2025.
