Matt is the founder of father's rights organisation Fathers 4 Justice. After Matt divorced his first wife, with whom he has 2 children, he started the campaign that uses stunts to fight for equal parenting, family law reform, and equal contact for divorced parents with children. Fathers 4 Justice's themes and ways are controversial. "I'm the only person fucking stupid enough to do it," Matt defends himself in the film.

1000 LONDONERS

This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a ten-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

Here we are, déjà vu. This is a house of injustice. It is a house of injustice. Back in 2003 we put Batman & Robin up on top there. We had to have a big run around trying to get hold of this bloody ladder in East London. And the thing was so big, it was like on top of a van, and it was literally bowing, it was like literally (waving arms up and down) One of the guys got stuck on the railings on his jacket and the second guy got about half way up and the cops were following him up the ladder. He started shaking the ladder (shakes arms): all right mate this ladder is highly unstable... it's like me!

It's cathartic, in its own kind of strange way. You know, I can laugh about this place rather than just cry, you know, for losing my children. It's a lovely building, but the people inside it: rotten to the core. Feminism was a very noble, worthy concept, but it got hijacked. And it is now a, it's a hate cult. They are 'shehadists', these are people who have got a clearly stated agenda. I'm quite fortunate 'cause I met my wife at a Fathers 4 Justice meeting. I thought she was an undercover reporter, I'm lucky she's quite a kindred spirit. She's got the 'the cojones', you know. Here she comes.

Whatever you think of me or the campaign, whatever, we are just trying to do our best by other people. We're at the coal face, 3 or 4 suicides a month and I've got to speak to people's parents whose sons have killed themselves. I miss my sons terribly, you know, I really do, it nearly fucking killed me. They slag off Fathers 4 Justice and Fathers 4 Justice is just a love story, it always – it's a fucking love story, it's my love for my children. And I will fight and fight and fight by all means necessary. I say to my kids now: there's the birds and the bees and the booze. Y'know, if you're gonna have sex with them, take a breathalyzer and bring a lawyer!

It's a manhunt, it's a witch-hunt, it's just the witches doing the hunting now, you know.
