I thought I would made a quick reference video so I'll be able to find my septic tank access cover in the future. I spent a little too much time digging today, even though I had a general idea where the septic tank was, I had to dig around to find the tank's access cover. Look for a rectangular patch where the grass may be brown or shorter than the rest of the lawn. If you don't see this, look in your basement for the area where the sewage pipe leaves your home. Follow that out 8 to 10 feet. If you're on a slab, you may have to dig around the edge of the slab to find where the sewage pipe leaves the home. According to the septic tank service folks, you should have your septic tank pumped out every 4 years. This of course depends on how many people in your home. If you're trying to find your septic tank good luck!
