Amanda Seyfried may be a well-known actress, but she finds true tranquility far from Hollywood's busy scene.
In a recent Forbes interview, the *Mamma Mia* star opened up about life on her farm in upstate New York, where she enjoys a peaceful lifestyle with her husband, Thomas Sadoski, and their two children. After living in both Los Angeles and New York City, the 38-year-old actress decided to settle down in the countryside. “Moving upstate was the best decision for privacy, peace, and a connection to nature," Seyfried shared, adding that her life there has been essential for her mental well-being.
Seyfried explained that her farm offers a refreshing contrast to the high-energy life of film sets and press events. After big work trips, she loves returning to the quiet of her farm, where she can throw on her boots and feed the animals.
She and her family raise animals, grow vegetables, and immerse themselves in nature. Seyfried has even become known locally as someone who rescues animals in need. “I’m recognized as the person who takes on emergency situations to adopt animals," she told *Us Weekly*, adding that it's something she's grateful to be able to do.
She also appreciates the values her children are gaining from caring for the animals. “They’re learning about responsibility and kindness to animals,” she said. “I believe pets give us purpose, and in return, we owe them good care and attention.”
Seyfried’s own love for animals and the outdoors began in childhood. Raised in a small yard in suburban Pennsylvania, she always dreamed of having space to roam. When she bought her first property in her 20s, it came with horses, sparking her journey into farm life. Since then, she’s added goats and other animals, fulfilling her love for the outdoors and animals.
