There's an area in northern Virginia which has been informally dubbed the "Data Center Capital of the World", but a massive $1 billion data center is actually going to get built a few states over in rural Wisconsin.

It will be in a village of under 30,000 people, but there's a very good reason why Microsoft chose this location ...
