A first look at the Pa'lante Packs Joey! A unique running vest style backpack with the ability to carry gear for multiple days on trail. In this video I take a hike, test it out, and see what I think. Carrying a 6 pound base weight and three days of food it is surprisingly comfortable.
Though I intend on using it as a more conventional backpack I think it's features are very well suited for that just as well would likely fit a runner even better or someone already used to this type of thing.
I can see myself using this on trails anywhere from 50 - 500 miles in distance, adventure races, multi day stage races, fastpacking trips, an FKT attempt, but I think due to it's low volume the one downsidefor a much longer trail in the 2,000 mile range is its flexibility. Still it was named after two guys who both used it to do a very fast hike of the appalachian trail (45 days, Joe McConaughy and Joey Camps in 2017) so clearly I personally need more testing!
